Volkswagen Group is one of the most popular car brands in the world and the 2nd largest car manufacturer. They had achieved great success by making firsts in many tracks. The company, which has been producing cars since 1937, has put its successful career in very interesting stories.
Volkswagen produced more than 100,000 cars in 1950 and increased the number to 500,000 as of 1951 and to 1.000.000 in 1955. The German automaker held a ceremony on 5 August 1955 for the millionth car.
Volkswagen Group actively participates in different commercial activities. The company produces not only cars but also Volkswagen group companies produce large-scale diesel marine engines, turbochargers, gas and steam turbines, compressors and chemical reactors.

Volkswagen Group sells cars in 153 countries with this team. VW Group announced that it sold 10.97 million vehicles in 2019, with an increase of 1.3 percent compared to 10.8 million vehicles in 2018. Sales increased by 3.9 percent in Europe and 3.2 percent in South America in 2019, by 0.5 percent in North America and 0.4 percent in the Asia-Pacific region.
Looking only at December, sales increased by 12.5 percent to 1.03 million units.
Volkswagen increased its 2019 revenue by 7.1 percent to 252.6 billion euros, and Volkswagen’s operating profit rose by 22 percent to 17 billion euros. The company generated 235.9 billion euros in revenue in 2018.
VW AG’s plans are on Seat and Skoda.
In an interview with Automobil Woche, VW Group product strategy expert Michael Jost said,
“We want to define our brands more clearly in the future. Seat presents its more emotional and emotional cars to its customers with the Cupra brand. Skoda can be preferred more in Eastern European markets. Skoda is also very ambitious in terms of functionality. ”
The group wants to position the Seat brand in a higher class. Skoda will compete with brands preferred in Eastern European markets in the coming years. Thus, VW Group will increase its presence in these markets.
