Chinese Foxconn (Iphone Factory) Will Produce Electric Car
Foxconn, who is known as the manufacturer for (iPhone) US-based technology giant Apple, was claimed to go into cooperation with Italian car manufacturer Fiat Chrysler (FCA).
According to the news in Bloomberg, the two companies FCA and Chinese Foxconn will establish a new company with a 50 percent partnership and will cooperate in the production of electric cars. A new move came from Fiat Chrysler (FCA), which decided to merge with French automotive producer PSA. According to the statement, Apple’s smartphone (iPhone) manufacturer Chinese Foxconn will also start to produce cars for FCA.
According to Bloomberg, Chinese Foxconn will establish a new company with FCA, a 50 percent partnership and will cooperate in the production of electric cars.
In the first stage, these models will be produced with the aim of targeting the Chinese market and will be sold to foreign markets in the coming years. The agreement will sign the signatures in the first quarter.
Foxconn’s chairman, Young Liu, said the company will be responsible for supply chain, design, and production for the parts.
On the other hand, for the time being, which models of FCA will be produced in the facility will remain a mystery. However, sources say that the next generation Fiat 500 can be produced at the factory in China.
